open gallery is proud to host natalie thedford: a melodic motif of perceptive play, an exhibition featuring the work of nashville-based artist, educator, and community builder natalie thedford. known for her subversive material techniques and tactile, handcrafted forms, thedford transforms everyday materials - like clay quilts and pleated tarps - into powerful reflections on emotion, labor, and overlooked beauty in the built environment.

thedford holds an mfa in studio practices with a focus in ceramics from the university of colorado, boulder, and a bfa in 3d art from the university of tennessee, knoxville. she was recently named a 2025 emerging artist by ceramics monthly.
